Software Engineering

Sixteen weeks building and deploying production web applications end to end. The distinguishing feature is code review: every line you write is read by an engineer who ships for a living, and you review your cohort in turn. That loop, not the syllabus, is what makes people employable.

Curriculum

Module by module.

Taught in this order because each block depends on the one before it. Nothing is presented as magic you are expected to accept.

  1. Programming foundations

JavaScript and TypeScript from first principles — types, async, modules — with the debugging habits that make the rest of the course survivable.

  2. The web platform

HTML semantics, CSS layout, accessibility and browser behaviour. Taught early, because retrofitting accessibility is far harder than building with it.

  3. React and application architecture

Component design, state management, data fetching and rendering strategy — including when a framework is the wrong answer.

  4. Backend and data

HTTP APIs, authentication, PostgreSQL schema design and the query patterns that stop an app falling over at scale.

  5. Testing and delivery

Unit, integration and end-to-end testing, CI pipelines, and deploying without downtime.

  6. Capstone and career

Ship a full application, defend your architectural decisions, then interview drills and hiring-partner introductions.

Outcomes

What you can do afterwards.

Capabilities, not certificates. Each of these is something you will have done under review before you graduate.

  • Build and deploy a full-stack application
  • Design a relational schema that holds up
  • Write tests that catch real regressions
  • Give and take a useful code review
  • Debug production issues methodically

Roles this feeds into

  • Frontend Engineer
  • Backend Engineer
  • Full-stack Engineer

92% of graduates are placed within six months, with job support continuing until you sign an offer.
